TezJet is proud to announce a truly historic addition to its fleet—the final McDonnell Douglas MD-83 ever produced. Bearing the tail number EX-80017 (formerly N984TW), this iconic aircraft, affectionately nicknamed “Last Mad Dog,” now takes to the skies once more in TezJet’s distinctive green livery.
Born in December 1999, this aircraft marked the end of an era in commercial aviation. Now, after five years of retirement, it begins a new chapter with TezJet, serving both domestic and international routes across Kyrgyzstan and Central Asia. “This is more than just a fleet addition—it’s a piece of aviation history,” said a TezJet spokesperson. “We’re honored to operate the last MD-83 ever built and to give it a new life in the skies of Kyrgyzstan.”
Fully refurbished inside and out, the aircraft has been upgraded mechanically and aesthetically, and is configured to accommodate 164 passengers in an all-economy layout. Known for its durability and reliability, the MD-83 remains a workhorse among narrow-body jets—now enhanced with modern systems and a refreshed cabin experience.
This strategic move reflects TezJet’s dedication to operational excellence while honoring aviation’s rich legacy. Last Mad Dog will be deployed on high-demand routes such as Bishkek–Osh, along with other key regional destinations.
By combining aviation heritage with modern reliability, TezJet continues to connect the region—one legendary flight at a time.
